The Content Claim Standard (CCS) provides companies with a tool to verify the content of specific input materials.
The CCS is the foundation for all of Textile Exchange's chain of custody standards.

The CCS verifies the presence and amount of a given material in a final product. It tracks the flow of a material from the source to the final product and is certified by an accredited third party. It allows for transparent, consistent, comprehensive and independent evaluation and verification of material content claims on products. It addresses companies who are involved in spinning, weaving and knitting, dyeing and printing and stitching among other production processes.

This is a third-party verification process which ensures a better management of  traceability and contamination risks by certifying te product and the management system. There are 200+ certification programs which will result in an improved advocacy by the management, in the eyes of investors, rating agencies and other analysts and for an improved stakeholder communication.

CCS can be used as a business-to-business tool. On the one hand, it gives companies the means to ensure that they are selling quality products and getting what they pay for. On the other, it also serves as the foundation for content claim standards that are developed around specific raw materials.
